Vehicles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Authorities reported they were alerted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.

A high-ranking representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
