Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
