19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.

The win also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to force a decider.

The opponent defended four early opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
