Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down following established safety measures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event is not the first time that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
