In a surprising partnership that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the formal release, "A strange encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The narrative presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.

The questline centers on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Changes

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
